Sahalag has started with Devotthan Ekadashi. More than 800 marriages took place in Hathras district on the first day. All the marriage halls remained busy from day till late night.
The wedding procession started dancing to the tunes of the bandleaders and DJ. Gharati also danced with them. Along with this, shehnai also echoed. With the beginning of Sahalag, the markets also remained busy. There was crowd in the markets the whole day. There was a crowd of Sahalag in trains and buses also. During this period, mass marriage of 300 couples under Chief Minister’s Mass Marriage Scheme and 23 couples under Kushwaha Samaj’s program took place. Apart from this, marriages took place across the district.
